Marauders Mangle Magicians 86-69

The Central State Men's Basketball team faced the Magicians of Lemoyne-Owen College today in the cozy confines of Beacon-Lewis Gymnasium. The game started off with the Marauders owning the paint with 16 points and 5 fast break lay ups.
Khalil Luster (Lima, OH) went perfect from the field and added 7 points in the first half.
Ramar Pryor (Canton, OH) also contributed twelve points in the first half with several acrobatic finishes at the rim scoring through contact. Pryor finished the half with a fadeaway jump shot as the buzzer expired sending the Marauders to the locker room with a 38 to 26 halftime lead. Javante Randle (Detroit, MI) contributed six points to the scoring sheet while using his length to stymie the opponent at the rim.
Brandon Scott (Hammond, IN) lead the Marauders with 5 rebounds in the first half all from the defensive end. Â Central State held its biggest lead the first few minutes of the contest going up by twelve points. Defensively the opponent was held to 35% shooting from the field and 25% from behind the arc.
The second half started for the Marauders expanding their halftime lead through stingy defense and precise shot selection. Shooting 55% from the field in the second half with multiple players in the scoring column gave the Marauders a balanced offense not dependent on one individual.
Khalil Luster (Lima, OH) started of the scoring draining a deep three pointer with 18:45 on the clock. Luster finished the game with 13 points, two assists, and one steal.
Ramar Pryor (Canton, OH) continued his holistic play contributing 18 points, four rebounds, and two assists. One of Pryor's highlights from the second half was euro step fast break twisting layup which gave the fans in attendance something to shout about. At the 11:13 second mark of the second half
Isaiah Daniel (Compton, CA) threw down a thunderous one hand dunk on the opponent bring all in attendance to their feet in admiration of his athleticism.
At the 9:30 mark of the second half
Khalil Luster (Lima, OH) connected on a deep three pointer giving the Marauders a twenty two point lead, their biggest of the contest.
Ibrahima Jarjou (Casamance, Senegal) also contributed six points going perfect from the field and free throw line. With 30 seconds left on the clock Jarjou closed out the game with an electric backwards dunk raising the roof in Beacon-Lewis Gymnasium.Â
Ramar Pryor (Canton, OH) finished as the Marauder Player of the Game with 18 points, four rebounds, and three assists. The final score of tonight's contest was 86-69 as the Marauders advanced to a .500 record in conference play. The next game for the Marauders is January 29 at 7 pm as the Central State Marauders take on Simmons College in Louisville, Kentucky.
