Marauders claim 76-62 road win over LeMoyne-Owen
 
MEMPHIS, Tennessee – The Central State Marauders claimed their first road win of the season with a 76-62 victory over LeMoyne-Owen on Saturday night.
 
With the win, CSU improves to 7-13 on the year with a 6-7 ledger in the SIAC. LOC drops to 7-13 overall with a 3-8 mark in conference play.
 
CSU forward 
Jeremy Brown opened the game with a dunk to spark a 9-0 run. LOC cut the deficit down to two, 19-17, at the 11:18 mark of the first half. CSU responded with a 14-2 run and took a 39-31 lead at the intermission.
 
CSU earned their largest lead of the night, 62-47, on a 
Chris Cook basket with 9:33 left in the second half. LOC pulled to within eight with 6:46 to play before the Marauders efficiently closed out the game by converting five of their final seven field goals and going a perfect four for four from the free throw line.
 
CSU managed to overcome 20 turnovers by shooting a season-high 52% from the field.
 
Davone Daniels came off the bench to finish with a game-high 17 points along with 5 rebounds. 
Frank Barber III finished with 13 points. 
Chris Scott added 12 points as the Marauders snapped a 12-game road losing streak dating back to last season.
 
LOC was led Demba Konate's 11 points and 9 rebounds.
 
The Marauders resume conference play on Monday when they travel to Jackson, Tennessee to play Lane College.
 
 
Notes
CSU is in a tie for first in SIAC West Division with rival Kentucky State.
 
With Saturday's win, CSU sweeps the regular season series with LOC (2-0).
CSU was 0-9 on the road this season prior to Saturday's win.
Charles Ruise, a transfer from IPFW, scored 8 points off the bench in his CSU season debut on Saturday night
