The Marauders Indoor Track & Field team have had a successful start to the indoor season and are already earning some early season awards. In the Peach Belt Conference, the Marauders new conference for Indoor Track & Field, two athletes were recognized as PBC players of the week.
Field Athlete of the Week - Amarianna Lofton, Central State
- -A Sophomore from Orlando, Fla., she won the high jump at the Tiger Opener and then won it again at the Tiffin Invitational, hitting 1.70m in the second event
- Cleared the bar at 1.70m on her second attempt at that height after hitting three previous marks, two of them on her first jump; won the Tiger Opener with a jump of 1.66m, the two leaps are the top two heights cleared in the PBC so far this season
- Also won the 60m dash at the Tiger Opener and the 60m hurdles at the Tiffin Invitational; her 60 hurdles time is the fastest in the PBC while her 60 sprint is second-fastest in the conference
Track Athlete of the Week - Jeremiah Cadet, Central State
- A freshman from Ocoee, Fla., he finished in sixth place in the 60m and seventh in the 200 at the Tiger Open to begin the season and was 7th in the 60m and 8th in the 200m at the Tiffin Invitational
- He ran a 6.92 in the 60 in the preliminaries at the Tiger open, the fastest 60m in the PBC this season; also ran a 22.41 in the 200, second-fastest in the conference
- Ran the anchor leg of the 4x200 relay team that finished first at the Tiger Open and also finished seventh in the long jump at 6.32m, third-best in the PBC
