Admission is FREE but the fans are encourage to contribute to the "Pink Wave initiative that raises awareness for breast cancer research. NCAA teams are encouraged to participate by wearing pink during the game.
During warm-ups the Lady Marauders will wear “Pink Wave” T-shirts.
There will be a raffle held that night with all proceeds going to the Kay Yow/WBCA cancer research fund and the V Foundation. The “Pink Wave” events have been embraced by both professional and college teams of all sports -- and the Marauders are proud to bring this event to Central State.
The “Pink Wave,” formerly known as “Think Pink”, was initiated by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association in 2007. During the inaugural year for the event the WBCA saw participation from more than 120 teams. In 2008 more than 1200 teams joined in the fight. And last year more than 1600 teams helped the Pink Wave raise $1.3 million. The WBCA expects even bigger strides this year in the Pink Wave’s battle against breast cancer.
The Central State University Athletic Department invites all Marauder students, faculty, staff, and fans to attend this game and be a part of the “Pink Wave”.
