Anthony Passley scored 25 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Central State University to a 77-66 win over Clarion University in men’s basketball action at the Clarion Hotel Tipoff Classic on Saturday afternoon at the Butcher Center.
Passley connected on 9-of-13 shots from the floor and drained 7-of-10 free throw attempts.
Wesley Jones and Gino Smith each added 15 points, while Robert Harris had 14 for Central State (2-0). Smith tied Passley for game-high rebounding honors with nine boards.
Clarion (2-1) was led by Jamar Harrison with 20 points. Shameel Carty, Mike Sherry, and Paul McQueen were also in double figures with 10 points each.
Central State will face host Shepherd University at 3 p.m. on Sunday at the Butcher Center in final day action of the classic.
